Social Networks… what we’re doing..!!!

Some of our fans, followers and associates from the social networks will have thought we have
gone totally nuts this last 4 weeks as Digital Stationery has moved on to Facebook.

The Interesting thing is you’re nearly right...!!!   For 4 years we have had a business model that involved one or
two easy sellers that are priced much lower that their RRP in order to attract business - we’ve always been big on
quality and our customers get a lot of bang for their buck.

The single biggest stumbling block for Digital Stationery has always been show-casing material.   We don’t publish
portfolios of design work - we process jobs for people and we’re not a creative agency, we just deal with a ton of
traders that what to get very specific jobs done.

So what does our new Business Model look like?
(hopefully you can see our creativity shine through in our little diagram)

Now you know...

This is what we have been up to.  Trying to work out exactly how it is that Digital Stationery can be on Facebook, join in, share material to our Fan Base and benefit without draining all our time tweeting and sharing.   We've got the best friends ever.  They are totally expert at what they do.  It will be really good to see our customers progress in social media with them, just like we have.

You will notice our blog posts become much more social now.  The relationship between social and our material has just take a step up.   Now we have a little direction, we can focus on being social for the sake of being social...

Watch out next Friday - we've got something funny scheduled.

Today, Friday (yes, we scheduled this post) - someone told us that data collection via Facebook doesn't work and we shouldn't do it - it's not social.   Thanks, but we can only join in with social media if the time spent being on social is offset by reaching out to customers who pay our bills.

Look out for our attempts at creating interesting fun material for our Fans, Followers and Likeys...

Social CRM...

A CRM system is simply a database that allows customer data to be stored.   We've turned ours upside down and placed our web form from our Online CRM System directly in to Facebook.  Effectively, people on the networks and existing customers can become Fans and then opt-in to recieve our Special Offers all directly through our Facebook Page, their data goes straight in to our Social CRM, which is the part that does the automated email sending of our special offers from our Social CRM each month.  A duplicate of the offer is also added to a custom tab on Facebook.

Does this help you?...

We hope it does. We have spent ages trying to understand how we can take our traditional business and match it up to social media.  We hope that this blog posts helps as many people as possible.  Digital Stationery is a small business and being in two places at once is impossible.

Hopefully now we can join you.

The two people we hold responsible are @hlsbs and @saraharrow - these two have been our rocks.  Recommended follows are great friends.

It would seem that without the support, networking and sharing of information, we would never have been able to do any of this.  There you have it, the benefit of networking, collaboration and existing in the same space as other people in our own industry.  Fabby.

If any of you have anything relevant from your own businesses, we will gladly share it on our blog or on our Facebook Page.  I hope we've finally got there now..!!

If you want to see us on Facebook and share, share alike, join our Fan Page ;-)    // we're now able to blog socially...
