Lasting Impressions with a Sidebar
Blue is the colour of Facebook, it is blue blue blue blue.
Blue on white, white on blue, everyone is blue.
Having a profile on Facebook is sort of like being a fish in a big ocean. There are many steams of fish and many fish just like you. Now and then in this ocean you will find a remarkable fish. Big fish that are impossible not to see and small fish that stick out like a superstar on stage.
You like seeing remarkable fish because they are different from the others and we like different, some of us even go to the ocean just to try and see someone that is different. It’s impossible not to notice these remarkable fish and everyone always wants to be one. To be like this you have to do something remarkable, and to start being remarkable on Facebook you have to look original and different.
A sidebar for Facebook does just that, it’s the first and last thing thing a fan will look at. As I wrote before it’s a perfect first impression and a lasting impression you are going for. On Facebook, that is the first impressionable moment that happens when they look at your Avatar or Sidebar. The content a scrolling 'News' feed and the Sidebar is the first and last impression.
The big question is "What are you impressing on your visitors?"
It's worth thinking about. Make sure you use this knowledge to the good of your business. By taking the steps to promote your business online you are joining the digital future. Make sure you take the right steps and use them for all they are worth. With very little effort on your part you too can be purple and remarkable.
To learn more about remarkability, read Seth Goddins book called Purple Cow.
