Windows 7 Professional File Permissions

This blog explains how to change the file permissions for Windows 7 Professional.  When trying to save files to the file system, the new operating system returns a message saying something to the effect of "file name is invalid" when trying to save files to the computer.  In order to override this, Helen at Roofing Supplies recommends:

  • Go into your Control Panel
  • System & Security > Action Centre
  • Click "Change User Account Control Settings"
  • That should open a menu on the left hand side
  • On the vertical slider, move it to "Never Notify"
  • Click "OK"
  • Then restart for changes to take effect
